If you like me come from a cold climate, you’ll always dream of white sandy beaches and swaying palm tress as you sip cocktails from a coconut. This is the bounty dream (I blame commercials).
But does it actually exist? Yes, it does! The island of Koh Chang in Thailand is a paradise. At least, that’s how I felt after 3 months of backpacking through Asia. But can a beach paradise also become tiresome? Can there be too much of a good thing?
YOU KNOW YOU ARE TIRED OF BEACH PARADISE
DREAM OF THE BOAT BACK TO THE MAINLAND - EVEN THOUGH IT'S A 1 HOUR TRIP ON A BOAT WITH A LAWN MOVER FOR AN ENGINE
HAVE AN ACHING BACK FROM THE HARD FLOOR IN YOUR BASIC BAMBOO SIAM BEACH HUT & WISH FOR A ROOF IN THE BATHROOM
FIND THE LANDSCAPE MONOTONE & LOOKING TOO MUCH LIKE YESTERDAY...
ARE NAUSEATED BY DRINKING JUICES & COCKTAILS FROM COCONUTS
ARE TAKING PHOTOGRAPHS LIKE THIS ONE - AND IT'S THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY
ARE SICK OF EATING GRILLED FISH FOR BREAKFAST, LUNCH & DINNER
THINK THE GULF OF THAILAND IS TOO WARM TO SWIM IN
SERIOUSLY CONSIDER MOVING INTO THE SHADE TO READ A BOOK
CAN'T TAKE ANY MORE SUNSET MASSAGES ON THE BEACH - NOT EVEN FOOT MASSAGES
ARE HAPPY TO SEE A THAI BUS!
Okay, 3. world problems…

Can you have too much palm beach?
